About Paintball

What Is Paintball?

Paintball is an extreme sport where players compete to eliminate opponents by tagging them with paintballs (capsules) which are propelled from a paintball marker (gun). It can be played with individual players, or with teams. The paintballs are made of a non-toxic, biodegradable, water soluble polymer.

Games are played on outdoor or indoor fields. A game field has a variety of natural and built terrain where players seek tactical cover.

What is a paintball?

A paintball is a round, gelatin capsule with colored liquid inside. They are similar to vitamin capsules or bath oil beads. The liquid inside is non-toxic, water-soluble and biodegradable and rinses out of clothing and off skin with mild soap and water.

Does it hurt to be shot with a paintball?

It feels about the same as being hit with a rubber band. The sting usually goes away in a few seconds.

How many paintballs do you need to play?

A player on the field for four hours will use between 750 and 1,000 paintballs.
